The Krobo people of Ghana are known for their beautiful beads, created in a powdered glass method that’s been passed down through the generations. By melting down powdered glass in a clay bead mold, a stunning new bead is created.

What are Krobo Glass Beads?
Krobo glass beads are a special type of beads that are made up of recycled glass. Unused, old, or broken pieces of glass are gathered and then crushed into a powder. It’s poured into bead molds designed just for this purpose with powdered glass. Once the glass is heated inside the mold, it melts into a single piece of glass that slowly solidifies into an upcycled piece of wearable art.
